![]() Sunday, April 14, 2002 -- A fussy baby???? Well, our little angel has proved that she can be a normal baby. This is the second night in a row when she has gotten overtired and just plain unhappy. Last night we walked with her until she was calm enough to nurse herself to sleep. Tonight, that wasn't working totally so Pete suggested putting her down in the bassinet and letting her suck on her thumb, and that worked - instant out-cold baby. Poor thing. Both times this followed a pretty busy day. And during both days she was so good it was ridiculous. Pete's sister Mille and her boyfriend Dave were visiting. We ate at restaurants and walked around town and did long car-rides, etc... And she was either asleep or looking around, smiling, playing, sucking on her thumb, or nursing. But I guess it was a bit much. Tomorrow, I think we'll stay home! She is starting to develop a routine, though. She consistantly sleeps through from midnight til 6am. Usually, she'll then nurse and go back to sleep for an hour or two. Then we have "morning happy awake time" - so we'll sing songs, read a story, play with her rattle, etc... Then she'll nap. The rest of the day is still pretty unpredictable - it depends on what we're doing. But usually she'll fall asleep after nursing between 9pm and 10pm, and then she usually wakes up at midnight for one more nursing. She can now find her thumb very consistantly. She actually picked up her rattle and will look at it while she's holding it. She's starting to reach out to grab things on purpose. She smiles lots! And she's starting to make real sounds, so we're getting some idea of what her voice sounds like. She's getting really BIG! She weighs about 13.5lbs. She's outgrowing 3-6 month stuff already. Unfortunately, I think there are outfits I bought her that she'll never wear. Oh well. Anyway, here are some more pics...

Not even the boob would help! After about 30-45 minutes she was calm enough to latch on then bam, sound asleep. Our angel is "normal" too! Posted by Debbie (NewMomDeb @ 04/24/2002 10:47 AM CST
