Monday, April 1, 2002 -- Another update....

Well, Dagny is just over 9 weeks old. She's sooooooo big now! She was 11lbs 9.5oz at 6.5 weeks, but we think she's well over 12lbs now. Except for a couple of two-piece outfits, she's outgrown all of her 0-3 month clothes.

She tracks anything that moves in front of her eyes. She loves shadows and will be distracted by them when nursing at night by the night light.

She will hold her rattle, but she doesn't realize she's holding it. She grabs at my clothes when she's nursing. She'll pat my boob sometimes too. :)

She's latching on much better now. Most of the nursings during the day we only need to do two latches, she almost always drops when my milk lets down because it's so strong. Then I squirt all over both of us! Then we re-latch and she's on for the rest of the session. But, the sessions have gotten shorter and she's nursing much more often - like every hour for a good part of the day!!!!! But we usually get one good stretch from about midnight til 4am or 5am.

I'm getting out more with her, although she doesn't make it easy sometimes. I can never be on time, anywhere. She loves to poop when her diaper is off or when you've just gotten the new one on. And she'll do it 3 or 4 times - even if you wait. So a change can take 20 minutes. So when I try to feed her and change her before I leave, it can really take a while.

She is soooo amazing!!!! Pete and I just stare at her. We can't believe we have her.
