![]() Thursday, November 29, 2001 -- Doc says I should gain MORE weight! Well I only gained 1.5lbs in the last 4 weeks. Since the baby probably gained more than that, plus the increased fluid weight and other stuff, it means I actually lost weight somewhere. I should be gaining a pound a week at this point. So the prescription is for 2 protein shakes with ice cream a day! Gotta love it. But, she wasn't too concerned since I'm measuring 33cm at 31.5 weeks - which is a little big - the cm's should match the weeks. Generally, one is supposed to gain a total of 25-35lbs by the end of pregnancy. Right now I'm pre-pregnancy weight + 8.5lbs. I only have 8 weeks to go. I'm not going to hit that. Even if I count the 8lbs I lost in the first trimester that still only brings me to +16.5lbs. I guess if I really pig out (which I thought I did over thanksgiving....) maybe I'll hit it. But, as long as the baby is okay, the less I gain, the less I have to lose. Since I had "plenty" to start with, it's not as much of a concern. I start 2 week appointments now. I'll have 2 of those, then we go to once a week for all of January until the baby comes. I hope that will make things go by quicker. I'm starting to get impatient. I want to meet my little babykins!!!! (And, I wouldn't mind being able to sleep on my back!!!) My belly has really popped now. I'll have Pete take another pic. I'm feeling kicks rather high under my chest. The baby does not like elastic waistbands, or my arm on my belly while I sleep, or me leaning over when I'm sitting, or anything that cramps its space. Each results in many kicks and squirms. I can pretty reliably get a reaction by poking around my belly. I guess I should feel guilty, but it's sooo much fun! Anyway, that's the preggo update for now. More to come....
