Tuesday, November 20, 2001 -- 1st La Leche League Meeting

I went to my first LLL meeting today. It was pretty cool. Bunch of women talking about breastfeeding and nursing their babies and toddlers. There were two other women who had had homebirths with HomeFirst! One was planning her second one with them. They both had wonderful experiences with them. That made me feel really good about my upcoming birth. I'm so excited!!!!

------------------

Well, less than 10 weeks til my due date! It's all gone by so fast! I hope this last part goes quickly too. But I know I should enjoy it, and sleep while I can! We don't have anything ready yet. Everything this kid owns fits on one shelf in my office closet.

But I do have 95% of my holiday shopping done! I even have gift wrap and boxes ready to go.

We're not going anywhere for the holidays this year. As I said after Arizona, I'm not getting on another plane for quite a while. So we'll have plenty of time to put up decorations and such! I also want to put up some christmas lights in our bedroom for the perfect birth-lighting.

Maybe we'll even be able to get some painting done. I want to paint one wall in our family room a fairly deep orange/red. Pete is scared of dark colors, but we saw it done at the hotel in Tucson, and he agreed it looked good. It's only one wall, not the whole room. I also want to paint the bottom part of the walls in our bedroom a pale sage green and find a nifty border to put up. And then it's time to attack IKEA for cheap window dressing and shelves. If I'm really on the ball, I'll take before and after pictures.

Oh, does anyone know where I can find out how to string lights on a christmas tree like a pro? I must be missing something, but I can never get the lights to look right. Send any suggestions to squirmy@petoni.org.
