![]() Monday, November 5, 2001 -- Busy weekend We had a very busy weekend. Friday night was our first HomeFirst birth class. I am now even more excited to have this baby at home with the people of this practice. It is so rare to find like minded health professionals that listen and are as dedicated to giving you the birth experience you want as you are. Later we met BGC and KJM downtown for a late dinner. Actually, we were so far north we were almost in Evanston, but anything remotely close to the lake is "downtown" to us. We went to a very yummy seafood place and had a great time. Saturday, I volunteered at a local craft fair. Of course I contributed plenty of cash by getting a good start on my holiday shopping. :) Pete took Radley to the vet for her distemper shot. Our vet doesn't like to give all the vaccinations together since it increases the chances of bad reactions, etc... So you have to go back a week or two later, but they don't charge for the extra visit and I think it's a really good idea. I just wish more people docs felt the same way! We spent the afternoon and early evening putting together our costumes for our friends' annual Halloween Costume party. I went as a bumble bee and Pete went as a beekeeper. I'll have pics up shortly. It was great fun. Folks that didn't know I was pregnant thought my belly stuffing was done very well. :) Sunday, Pete had a fencing tournament and I hung out with KJM around Naperville. She took some photos of the cute kids running around for her photography class. We had brunch at Egg Harbor Cafe - a wonderfull breakfast place - think IHOP but much nicer and the food is 10 times better. They are only open from 6:30am - 2pm everyday and they are always packed! So we put our names in, roamed around the shops and the Riverwalk for a half hour, then went back and had a nice meal. When Pete got back from fencing it was time to take K to the airport. That was the day of the O'Hare security breach. There were news vans everywhere and up to 2 hour lines for security. Argh! Then we went out to eat at Chevy's. And then we collapsed. Pete left for Tucson the next day.
